Our Story
YUM Brands, franchisor of the well-known Pizza Hut, Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) and Taco Bell brands, expanded its relationship with Honduran company Grupo Comidas to open KFC in San Pedro Sula in January 2004, joining the corporation’s network of more than 35,000 restaurants in over 100 countries and territories around the world.
KFC is known worldwide thanks to its founder, Colonel Sanders, who created his secret recipe for pressure-frying chicken with 11 herbs and spices. In the highly competitive world of fast-food franchises, KFC holds a leading position, with more than 12,800 restaurants in 85 countries and truly remarkable figures, such as the 6.8 billion pieces of chicken eaten worldwide every year.
KFC has become Hondurans’ favorite chicken chain, with restaurants in cities such as San Pedro Sula, Tegucigalpa, El Progreso, La Ceiba, Choluteca and Puerto Cortés. It is the only chicken chain offering its unmatched 3 recipes (Original, Crispy and Hot Crunchy) plus a wide range of sides, burgers and seafood.
